Upgrading to 12.5.1

I have been trying for two days to upgrade iTunes [on iMac late 2015] running OS x, from 12.4.3.1 to 12.5.1 in order to put iOS 10 on my iPhone. Using the Check for upgrades, it finds the upgrade and seems to upgrade, but it doesn't actually upgrade. Help

I have a similar issue. But slightly different. When I go to the AppStore and check for updates it says there is no updates available, even though my iTunes is only 12.4.3.1. It's frustrating.
